Minnesota Medical Cannabis Program Begins Operations
Patient registration for Minnesota's medical cannabis program began on June 1, 2015, with the first medical cannabis distributed to patients on July 1, 2015. Two licensed manufacturers — LeafLine Labs and Minnesota Medical Solutions — began serving patients at eight distribution locations.
After a year of program development, the Minnesota Department of Health launched patient registration and the first two manufacturers began operations. The program was initially one of the most restrictive in the nation, limited to non-smokable forms and a narrow list of qualifying conditions.
